Google Earth
Google Earth is such a powerful (downloadable) tool I have listed separately from the other Google Tools. It is a virtual globe, map and geographic information program that was originally called EarthViewer 3D.
Teachers can take students to anywhere on Earth as well as Mars, the Moon, under the ocean; they can also view street view images, 3D buildings and 3D cities. Teachers can also use The Global Awareness gallery for layers and tours related to environmental science and use a related site ‘Google Lit Trips’ for English and Language Arts courses.

Google drive will now appear as an option on the top bar in your gmail account. From here you may view any file you have created or start a new one. Tutorials may refer to the document hyperlink in the place of the Google drive. Otherwise all google apps will function the same with the added benefit of a virtual hard drive on any computer you are signed in to. An icon for the drive will appear on your desktop after it is installed.
